Summary writeup to copy/paste:
Welcome to our Community Home Transformation project for April! April is a graduate of the MC Church-led Parent course, Families Count. We are coming together to completely renovate, repair, and furnish a home for a wonderful local mother and her three children (a 10-year-old girl and two teenage boys). This project moves in phases—starting with urgent structural prep and safety updates in October, followed by professional trade installations, and wrapping up with a full room-by-room furnishing drive by December 1st. Whether you can lend your muscles for a volunteer lifting shift, donate new or gently used furniture, or financially sponsor a specific item or contractor repair cost, your generosity makes a direct impact. Thank you for partnering with us to build a safe, warm, and beautiful fresh start for this family! Click Here to join the community effort as we take accountability for April's family. God is providing through willing hands and open hearts to bring this family all the way home.

With nearly everybody ready to graduate, we can celebrate a successful first year of Families Count in Mooore County soon! This was such a fun course because we had the most chatty and witty bunch around. Two of our girls even had birthdays during the program!! It has been a blast so far. Also wanted to give you a little sneak peak into the facility and classwork!!
There is nothing quite as powerful as watching parents pour their hearts into building a stronger, brighter future for their families. Recently, we gathered together to celebrate a beautiful milestone—the graduation of our latest Families Count parenting course cohort. Over the multi-week program, these parents demonstrated an extraordinary level of dedication. Balancing life’s daily demands, they showed up each week ready to learn, grow, and put new tools into practice. They didn’t just complete a court-accredited curriculum; they actively chose to invest in long-lasting transformation for their homes. As Scripture reminds us: "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." — Galatians 6:9 One of the most inspiring parts of this journey has been watching the community form. From the very first session to our final graduation dinner, these individuals communicated beautifully with their mentors, breaking down barriers and opening up their hearts. The deep, lifelong connections forged between the participants, mentors, and our Families Count staff are a true testament to the power of a supportive village. To mark the conclusion of the course, we shared a wonderful family-style celebratory dinner and, of course, a graduation cake. But the real highlight of the evening was recognizing the incredible, visible changes in each student. Every graduate walked away not just with a certificate, but with clear, long-lasting personal goals to carry their families forward into this next chapter. We anchor our hope for their continued growth in the truth of God's word: "Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." — Philippians 1:6 To our graduates: we are so incredibly proud of your hard work, your vulnerability, and your steadfast commitment to your children. We cannot wait to see all that you accomplish next! Families Count is a court-approved parenting ministry designed to provide parents with the tools, mentorship, and community support they need to thrive. If you would like to volunteer as a mentor or support future cohorts, please reach out to learn how you can get involved. April - April is SUCH a ray of sunshine! We are so proud of all her work and dedication throughout the program. While April was a star student in the room, she was also a star parent and self-advocate outside of the classroom. April has accepted a position at the Food Lion Carthage (thank you for working with us!) and is excited to start training soon! April has also started a fundraising plan with Families Count to restore her family home in Carthage to working order starting with the electric. Big THANK YOU to Robert Cain with Cain Electric Solutions for being a community supporter in that! April is looking forward to employment and family and then giving back through ministry projects at her new congregation at Grace Church, Carthage. Sweet Samantha - Samantha has completed the Families Count curriculum too! And boy has the Lord trully been working in her life. Samantha has gained the confidence she needed to change her path for her and her babies and is going to redeem herself in God's amazing grace. We are so excited to have her seek further assistance with her recovery and family's reunification. Families Count is now working with The Falcon House to get her to safe housing and assisstance with her babies TODAY! This is a day that the LORD HAS MADE! This miracle is sure to bring saving grace not only to Samantha, but start a blossoming future for her family and spark hope for other struggling members of our community as well. COME BE A PART - BLESSINGS ARE FLOWING Parent referrals and Volunteer Sign Ups are on our website and we need to fill seats and positions for our second class that starts August 6th! www.moorefamiliescount.com It has been SUCH an honor getting to know Jess and Sean Dowd as they take on this HUGE role in our new ministry. Co-Leaders for Families Count are the trained and certified teachers that jump in the front line and do the MOST when it comes time for class. Jess and Sean have been working hard to prepare each week's lesson and plan activities and special ways to reach our parents in need here at Families Count. They bring smiles each week and have already left a HUGE impact on our students in just a few short weeks. Thank you so much for being a part of this ministry - you and your whole family are a blessing to this ministry and this community!
